Blueberry Mimosa's

Happy Tuesday! I sure am glad Monday is over how about you? Last Friday was my off weekend from teacher training so I wanted to soak it all in. Friday night one of my most favorite yoga teachers, Octavia Raheem brought in the first day of spring with a funky modern yoga class at 9pm with a DJ & strobe lights! How cool is that? This was my first time visiting Evolation Yoga in Midtown & was amazed at how nice the studio was! Some people choose clubs on Friday nights, I choose yoga with funky dance tracks:) Saturday was absolutely gorgeous so of course I had to take advange of being outside. My friend Blair & I love to venture out to different areas in Atlanta. This weekend we chose The Virginia Highlands: first stop Murphy's for an amazing brunch followed by blueberry Mimosas. Murphy's is by far my favorite place to have brunch, not only is the food superb but the ambiance is perfecto! One of my favorite little perks about Murphy's is the little assorted muffins & buttermilk biscuits they serve-AMAZING. I can honestly say I've tried almost everything on the menu & have never been disappointed. The shrimp & grits are very popular & of course the French toast if you have a sweet tooth. I also love the eggs virginia highland:) check it out & let me jnow what you guys think! Back to a long work week with lots of yoga packed in-hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Lovely day at the Buford Farmer's Market

Good Evening folks:) I wanted to share this amazing recipe for Salmon, Tuna & Asparagus Tempura! I might've gotten the idea from a boy but I spiced it up a bit & made it my own. Girls are better in the kitchen anyways right? Haha just kidding guyzzzzz. Things you will need:
1.) Salmon & Tuna Steak Fillets (preferably from your local farmers market)
2.) Asparagus
3.)Tempura mix
4.)Vegatable oil( I substitute with olive oil)
5.)3/4 cups of ice water
6.)Soy sauce for dipping
To prepare Tempura batter: (box has instructions) 1cup of the tempura batter into a mixing bowl-pour the ice water into the mixture & stir until the batter is smooth without lumps. Keep the batter cold(I place in the freezer for a bit so it thickens up. Pour the oil into a pot or a deep fryer if you have one handy(I use a pot..works just as good) if using a pot make sure the oil is covering at least 2 inches-turn the heat to about medium high-cut your meat & veggies into small sushi style pieces- when you've heated the oil place the meat into the batter & drop one by one into the pot. Helpful tip:do not let the meat soak into the batter for long bc the mixture will not stick-just make sure it's coated and immediately drop into the oil. It doesn't take long at all bc the oil is so hot.. about a minute. You can always take a piece out & cut it down the middle if you aren't sure. Veggies: to be on the safe side I would make a separate bowl of tempura batter for your veggies bc the raw fish has been in the first mixture...we don't want to take a chance on getting sick! After preparing you can dip in soy sauce to add flavor!

Groundhog Day

Happy Tuesday❤️ What a crazy day-grrrr. Do you ever have those days where you think about leaving your job? Call me crazy but I have those kind of days more often than I'd like to admit. Do you ever feel like you're wasting your life away by sitting at a desk clocking in & out, working the same dead beat job? It's like friggin Groundhog Day! Basing your career off of what you're most passionate about is a scary thing because there's a good chance that it will fail...(why do we tell ourselves this!?) We live in a world of fear I suppose. I only say this because fear has held me back from so many things in life including what I'm most passionate about. We are taught to graduate highschool go to college & get a real job based off of our college degree, but what if it doesn't fulfill us? Isn't happiness #1 on your list? Most people do not get to live out their passions in life. I'm a huge believer in reverting back to childhood, reminiscing on what made you the happiest & let that steer you in the right direction. It's perfectly okay to struggle with deciding what you're most passionate about. Believe me...I've changed my mind a gazillion times! If you have a lot of interests like myself try focusing on the one that you do most often. For me, yoga is my ultimate passion & helping others achieve goals with their bodies & mind. Its going to be a very long road with some struggles while working towards this but in the end if I'm doing what makes me happiest I feel like I've conquered the world.

Einstein's

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benedict

Happy Monday Guys! I had quite a busy weekend and I wanted to apologize for not being able to blog until now. As you all know my life is consumed with yoga which I totally love but it's nice to get out with my friends on a gorgeous day! Brunch is one of my favorite things to do & I love trying new spots. My top three favorites that I've tried in Atlanta thus far would have to be 1.) Murphy's 2.) Highland Bakery 3.) Einstein's. Einstein's is located in Midtown & I found it to be "the trendy hot spot" for brunch. The food was top notch & they also have a Bloody Mary bar(how freaking awesome is that!) Halfway through our meal a DJ started spinning dance tracks that included Nicki Minaj....for a minute there I thought I was in a club haha. I would recommend Einstein's to anyone who's down for a unique brunch experience but you might not want to bring your Grandma;-)

VIS-A-VIS THE SALON

Good Morning Friends:) I'm feeling quite refreshed after a much needed hair appointment at my favorite Salon in Atlanta "Vis-A-Vis" if you're a woman then you know how important it is to find a great salon. I tried numerous places trying to get a good deal but it ended up costing me more because every salon I went to messed up my hair! Ahhh (girls worst nightmare) I swear someone gave me a cut that somewhat resembled a mullet! This is NOT okay! I definitely went home & bawled for a couple of hours. Needless to say, finding a good salon is essential for a girl. My aunt introduced me to Vis-A-Vis a couple years ago & I fell in love with the salon + my favorite southern belle colorist "Celena".  She has the magic touch when it comes to color & the health of my hair. One of my favorite things about Vis-A-Vis is that they will not over process which is something most salons have a bad habit of doing. Visit them at http://visavisthesalon.com. & ask for Celena!

Shoes are a girls best friend

I've died & gone to shoe heaven! Alexander Wang is a brilliant designer & these gorgeous heels are proof that he's making it big in the fashion industry.  Most of his designs are edgy combined with a futuristic look. You can find his designs at www.shopbop.com among other websites.  Check out the handbags as well-they're stellar.  I'm really into strappy stilettos at the moment:) These are perfect for a sexy sophisticated look.  Pair them with  leather skinnies to achieve an edgy look or dress them down with denim skinnies.. Whatever look you're going for these shoes will be the main focus so everything else should be simplified. Hope you guys enjoy your day & happy shoe shopping!
It's a cashmere kinda day

Trader Joe's=❤️

Do you despise grocery shopping? I can't say I blame you..the lines are long, it takes forever to find one item & the employees aren't very helpful. Trader joes is the exact opposite! Excellent service, fresh organic produce, specialty items, perfect size so it's easy to find what you're looking for & my favorite part is the 2 buck chuck. I'm talking about the vino people-it's perfecto! Especially for a little under 3$ a pop. They also have natural beauty products such as lavender scented body scrub. Lavender has a number of health benefits like preventing migraines, anxiety, depression, muscle aches & the list goes on. One of my favorite yoga teachers massages my legs & forehead with lavender oil while in savasana-best stress reliever ever:) If you have a Trader Joe's near, you must check it out! Who knows? Grocery shopping might be your new favorite hobby;-)
My latest obsession!
